De Alberto Dorado gets the highest award for the fourth time in this international competition organized by the Spanish Union of Tasters
De Alberto Dorado 100% Verdejo DO Rueda has been awarded the Gran Bacchus de Oro, the highest award of the prestigious international wine competition organized by the Spanish Union of Tasters and recognized by the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) and the Federation World of Great Wine and Spirits Competitions (Vinofed). This is the fourth time that De Alberto Dorado has received this recognition.
Bodegas De Alberto is currently the only traditional producer of Dorado de Rueda using an exclusive oxidative aging method in demijohns exposed to the sun. The subsequent aging in soleras preserves the mother for more than 80 years and perpetuates a traditional method of making this wine that the Gutiérrez family has maintained uninterruptedly since the 40s and that is passed down from generation to generation.
With this Gran Bacchus de Oro De Alberto once again achieves significant recognition in one of the most renowned wine competitions in the world. Held this weekend in Madrid, the event was attended by a hundred professionals and experts, including specialized journalists, sommeliers, oenologists, Masters of Wine and Masters of Sommeliers.
With this new award, Bodegas De Alberto remains among the most prestigious nationally and internationally. In just over 100 days of this year, 2023, it has already been multi-awarded with distinctions such as the Gold and Silver medals received at the Mundus Vini International Wine Awards or the three silver tendrils. For its part, De Alberto Dorado Dulce, has positioned itself as the best wine from the DO Rueda by achieving the Master rating -the highest- by The Drink Business magazine; while De Alberto 100% Verdejo Ecológico has managed to be the best young wine of the DO Rueda at the Sarmiento Awards.
These distinctions join others of the highest prestige obtained by Bodegas De Alberto with its Dorado in recent years, such as the double Platinum medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards, the 98 points for Dorado obtained in its tasting panel, the Grand Medal of Gold in Viñaespaña, the 95 points in the Peñín Guide or the 91 Putos Parker Wine Advocate.
