The Selections Mondiales des Vins of Canada contest has awarded a gold medal to the Monasterio de Palazuelos Verdejo 100% wine from Bodegas Hijos de Alberto Gutiérrez.
Monasterio de Palazuelos Verdejo 100% has received the gold medal in the Selections Mondiales des Vins competition in Canada. It is a white wine made from the Verdejo variety with intense, fresh and fruity aromas. Straw yellow in color, it is ideal to accompany light dishes or appetizers.
Achieving this recognition means that De Alberto will participate in an exclusive tasting that will be held at the ITHQ hotel in Quebec and that will feature the award-winning wines from Castilla y León. The event will have about 50 attendees including sommeliers, high-end restaurant owners and journalists specialized in the world of wine, which is an excellent presentation for a future entry into the Canadian market.
This award is added to those received last June at the World Wine Awards, where De Alberto Dorado Dulce obtained the gold medal with 96 points; the historic De Alberto Dorado also won gold, with 95 points, and De Alberto Pálido took silver with 92 points.
Those obtained in the 29th Edition of the Brussels World Contest also stand out, where Monasterio de Palazuelos Verdejo 2021 won the Gold Medal, while De Alberto Verdejo Ecológico 2021 won the Silver Medal. As well as those obtained last May, when De Alberto Dorado was awarded a Gold Bacchus at the XX Bacchus International Wine Competition 2022.
In addition to this Gold Bacchus, the winery also saw recognition for the work done with its De Alberto Ecológico 100% Verdejo DO Rueda 2021, made with Certified Organic Agriculture vineyards that won a Gold Medal at the CINVE Awards.
Finally, another four De Alberto wines obtained medals in different categories at the Mezquita Awards held in Córdoba. Thus, De Alberto Dorado, De Alberto Dorado Dulce and De Alberto 80 Aniversario obtained a gold medal while De Alberto Pálido achieved a bronze medal.
In recent months, the winery has also won the Silver Medal in Vinalies with its Finca Valdemoya Rosado, recognition for Best Fortified Wine at the 2021 Verema Awards, this time with De Alberto Dorado, and a special mention for Best Wine Tourism Project, by managing to be among the three most voted initiatives in the same framework.
Other prizes won are the Great Zarcillo de Oro from last October or the Great Gold Medal in Vinespaña; the 95 Guía Peñín Points or the 91 Parker Wine Advocate Points.
