Bodegas de Alberto was awarded in several categories in the prestigious 'Sakura' Japan Women's Wine Awards 2024 competition, an annual event that takes place in Japan and whose tasting jury is directed exclusively by Japanese women related to the world of wine. This year the event celebrated its eleventh edition, in which it wanted to promote wine consumption and highlight the participation of women in the sector.
Thus, the Monasterio de Palazuelos Verdejo 2023 wine received the Diamond Throphy, the most prestigious award of the contest. The contest received a total of 4,023 samples from 28 countries with great weight in the wine industry.
It is a Verdejo with intense, fresh and fruity aromas, with which it has won other important awards that have made it one of the most emblematic wines of the winery. Among those he has received, the Gold of the Berliner Wein Trophy stands out; the Vronze at Cathay Pacific Competition; the Gold from the Asia Wine Trophy or the Bronze at the Decanter World Wine Awards, among others.
But, continuing with the 'Sakura' Japan Women's Wine Awards, it should also be noted that the CEO of Bodegas de Alberto, Carmen Sanmartín, and the winemaker, Beatriz González, were recognized as Woman Winemaker of the Year, a tribute to talent and dedication of women within the wine sector.
