Bodegas De Alberto participates in the Wines of Northern Spain Showroom, held at the Westminster Chapel in London. This event, organized by the Rueda, Toro and Navarra Designations of Origin, offers attendees the opportunity to explore the diversity and quality of wines from northern Spain.
At its stand, Bodegas De Alberto has presented four of its most outstanding wines:
- By Alberto Verdejo On Lías 2023: A white wine with a complex and elegant character, aged on lees that gives it depth and unique nuances.
- De Alberto Sauvignon Blanc 2023: A fresh and vibrant Sauvignon Blanc, recognized for its intense fruit aromas and balanced acidity.
- By Alberto Dorado NV: This historic wine, made according to the traditional method by Bodegas Hijos de Alberto Gutiérrez for more than 80 years, in 2019 became the first wine from the Rueda Designation of Origin to win the highest award from the British publication Decanter. After repeating the feat in 2020 and now in 2024, with 97 points, it continues to be the highest rated DO Rueda wine for Decanter. This unique wine stands out for its oxidative aging, which gives it an intense golden color and complex notes of nuts and spices.
- Vineyard Verderol Verdejo 2023: An expressive and aromatic Verdejo, representative of the typicality of Rueda wines, with notes of white fruits and a refreshing finish.
Alberto Dorado has also been the protagonist in the DO Rueda Masterclass, which took place throughout the morning. During this session, attendees have been able to keep alive the ancestral techniques that result in a wine with a unique character.
Showroom Wines of Northern Spain is the first joint tasting in the UK of the DO Navarra, DO Rueda and DO Toro wine regions. This event highlights the climatic and geographical diversity of these areas, reflected in the variety of styles and flavors of their wines. Attendees enjoy a wide range of wines, from the bold reds of DO Toro to the fresh and aromatic whites of DO Rueda, to the vibrant rosés of DO Navarra.
